The Grandest Of All Canyons!!!

LET THE ADVENTURE BEGIN
So we went to the Grand Canyon and it was all smiles at the beginning. The day was beautiful  and we were happy to be on the water... you see, someone drove us the wrong way and we had a 90 mile detour at 11:00 at night. that was me! ooops.  Well we'er on the water now and the water was cold, like 47*F... which you think would be nice with the 115*F air temp but the shock of each was a little much. more on that later.

there is our boat...its called a J-Rig  its huge. run by motor and holds so much good food. stakes, chicken, fajitas, baked potatoes, trout, ice cream, more bacon than you can eat and sausage to boot... the eggs Benedict were amazing... it just kept getting better and better!

so we got to the end of the day and it was HOT HOT HOT. we took shelter under wet sheets and hand towels. That night was the 7 plagues... it started off just hot, then the bugs came out... little flying beetles that landed and then stuck to you forever. then came the cool breeze (this might not seem like a plague but when its followed up by SATANS breath the hint of cool weather was the worst.) So, Satans breath came but before that it rained just enough to make you wet.. and after the 140* breath from hell came the wind and the sand storm. it was a mad dash through the sandy saga to get a tent to try and get some relief from the sticky icky sand.  inside the tent was heat and hotter heat and at 4 AM we got the the wake up conch shell for those damn coffee drinkers! an hour before breakfast and all... it was hell!

The Morning After

 Things started to look up!
the next day was glorious! the sun hid behind the clouds and the rapids werent too big which was nice because the splash wasnt big enough get us wet and cold...
we hiked up slot canyons
we saw pretty water falls

We caught Froggies

at even prettier waterfalls...

there were windy waterfalls

little waterfalls

waterfalls we could jump into

we found waterfalls of the prettiest blue

 check out this guy!!!

then we helicoptered out!

by the way there were HUGE RAPIDS!!!!!!!! its hard to get photos because you have to hold on so tight!
this was like a 3 out of 10

oh yeah! we took a plane ride back to the beginning.

6 days of the best of times and the worst of times... it was AWESOME!!!

thanks Linzee
